Monserrat López Pérez

Student Assistant

Monserrat holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Guanajuato, Mexico. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Data Science for Public Policy at the Hertie School, and is a Data for Good Scholarship holder.

She has over six years of professional experience conducting data-driven research and policy analysis in Mexican think tanks. Her research interests include the digital economy, internet policy, and the use of data and technology for social good.

Antonia Döring

Student Assistant

Antonia completed her BSc in PPE (Philosophy, Politics and Economics) at the Vrijen Universiteit Amsterdam in 2023, specialising in economic policy. During her studies, she spent a semester abroad in Montreal. She is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Economic Policy and Quantitative Methods at the University of Potsdam.

Her research interests focus on current and historical transformation processes of the economic system, their effects on society as a whole and related questions of justice.

Merle Uhl

PhD Student

Merle Uhl was a PhD student at The Weizenbaum Institut. After she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Economics at the Justus Liebig University of Gießen with stays abroad in Montpellier and Granada, she earned her Master’s degree in Economics at the Free University of Berlin and the Copenhagen Business School. During her studies, she worked in economic consulting and at SAP, among others. Most recently, she was Head of Artificial Intelligence at Bitkom, the largest German industry association for the digital economy.

Niklas Mariotte

Student Assistant

After his interdisciplinary French-German bachelor studies at Sciences Po Paris and Freie Universität Berlin (2017-2021), he pursued his specialization in political economy. Most recently, he completed a MA degree in International Political Economy at the University of Sussex (2022-23). In October 2023, he resumed his studies in the MA Political Science at FU Berlin.

In his work at Weizenbaum Institute, Niklas Mariotte focused on corporate adoption of green computing technologies, bibliographic research, and Python-based data scraping. He also assisted with the maintenance of the research group’s website and the organization of events.

Tilman trompke

Student Assistant

Tilman Trompke was a student assistant at The Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society in research group 3 “Work and Cooperation in the Sharing Economy” up until March 2021 and economist by background. He is passionate about most topics related to economic development and certainly curious about how digital innovations such as platform markets shape socioeconomic development in the corresponding countries.

Sophie Dune Korth

Student Assistant

Sophie Dune Korth worked as a student assistant for the research group “Work and Cooperation in the Sharing Economy” at the Weizenbaum Institute up until March 2021. After finishing her undergraduate degree in Social Science and Economics at Sciences Po Paris, she currently proceeds with her graduate studies in Political Science at Freie Universität Berlin.
